My dear father James A Bermudez entered rest unexpectedly on February 12, 2007 at the age of 47. James,"dad" as I knew him as was a man of such courage. All his life he battled up hill and 9 times out of ten, he survived the battle. My dad was a loving father to James, Johnny, Emily, and myself. It didn't matter what time of night it was, if one of us children found ourselves in trouble, or in distress, he was always there with an open ear and most importantly, and open mind. Being handicapped, my dad became a black belt, that was an accomplishment he was extremely proud of. He volunteered at the Westfield Soup Kitchen and food pantry for a couple of years, until he got weak. Dad was an extremely caring person. He would help anyone, even a stranger if at all possible. My father raised 4 wonderful children, in which we were his everything in life. There is nothing my father would not do for anyone of us, and that I could not thank him enough for. As for friends, my dad made friends with just about anyone. He was a very dedicated friend to those close to him , but too those who lost his trust and respect, he could be your worst enemy. Us children loved our dad in body, so now its time to love him in spirit. May he rest in peace!
